Featured Wedding: Beth & Anthony

Beth & Antony
June 3, 2012 @ Stage 6

The Story

Beth met Anthony during an open mic poetry night at Church of the Advent Hope in Manhattan’s Upper East Side where Beth shared a poem and Anthony served as emcee. While Beth caught Anthony’s eye, they didn’t connect until a few months later. The two became a couple and spent the next five years enjoying each other’s company.  In April 2011, Anthony laid out a special meal of Beth’s favorite comfort foods for their 5th anniversary:  Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets (procured from NYU’s student center) and truffle mac-and-cheese from Cafeteria.  After dinner, Anthony then put on a DVD, claiming it was a movie.  A minute in, the movie cut into a homemade video, with Anthony singing a rendition of the song “Dancing In The Minefields.”  At the end of the video, Anthony dropped to one knee, ring in hand, and proposed.  Beth responded with, “Are you serious?” Once he confirmed, she said “yes.”

Wedding Style

A clean, modern aesthetic, with the theme “A+ B = SEBRO” (Sebro is pronounced “See-bro”)

Favorite Menu Item

Beth: Gorgonzola Cannoli
Anthony: Portobello Steak Fries and Savory Doughnuts

Memorable Moments

One of the most memorable moments for the couple was dancing to soca, a style of Caribbean music. “Also, one of our guests — in his early 40s — did a windmill on the dance floor,” says Beth, “And we were treated to a lovely rainbow outside just over the deck.”

What Guests are Saying

“That it was the most fun they’ve had at a wedding in years,” says Beth. “Everyone loved the food.”
