Featured Wedding: Danielle and Christopher @ Tappan Hill Mansion

Danielle and Christopher had planned to spend the day in the city prior to meeting his family for his brother’s graduation dinner. Chris suggested Dear Irving for a drink, which Danielle always loved. While “For You” by Frank Sinatra played in the background while they were having a drink, Chris said they had to meet his friend just down the street. After meeting him, he handed Chris a key, and before Danielle knew it, Chris was unlocking the private gates of Gramercy Park. Trying to process what was going on around her, Danielle looked up to see a beautiful blanket and picnic set up in the park, then down to see Chris on one knee. Danielle’s brother and friend, who did an amazing job helping orchestrate the whole day, appeared and took pictures before heading off to meet both of their families at Craft to celebrate the beginning of the rest of their lives.
“For the past 7 years producing live events, I have had the opportunity to partner with the Abigail Kirsch team. Very quickly, they became my go-to suggestion for my clients and these partnerships became friendships. Also having lived in the Westchester area for a bit and a student at Marist College not too much farther north, Tappan Hill Mansion seemed to check every box,” says Danielle. When I told AK team member, and my now good friend, Jennifer Schepps she immediately said, ‘you HAVE to have an AK wedding!’ I have a unique position on this “whole wedding thing,” but even being exposed to every single in and out of the business, AK still manages to exceed my expectations in every way from beginning to end – transparency, service, food, and overall experience. I never had one doubt in the whole process that we were in the best hands possible on such a big day in our lives.”
“Timeless, modern, elegant, personal. We worked with a palette of black, white, and greenery, with touches of gold and bronze,” says Danielle. “We used black linens across the space, with abundant candlelight from black tapers and brushed gold vessels, and white florals and greenery in varying heights. We also incorporated personal touches such as framed photos of our past generations, a custom neon sign to match our wedding song title, and used a family coffee table book about our honeymoon destination as a unique guest book.”
favorite menu item
bride & groom: “This is an impossible question! All of the above. Ok fine.. The burrata and squash appetizer and the beef entree.”
“Every moment was so special but having such a personal ceremony by such a special man – Reverend Jim Rooney, in front of a background that could’ve been a painting of a river sunset, with so many laughs from our family and friends, and the tangible feeling of so much love and togetherness, is hard to verbalize! Jim was referred to us by another AK team member and I can’t be more thankful,” says Danielle.
