AK Caters The Knot’s Annual Gala!

Abigail Kirsch was honored to caterer The Knot’s Annual Gala this year at The New York Public Library. The event, designed by Your Bash’s Brian Worley, had an edgy Hollywood theme with everything from metallic couches and mirrored side tables from Taylor Creative and Luxe Event Rentals , as well as modern white monochromatic floral tabletop designs by David Beahm.

Rather than a formal style of dining, for this special event, we opted to do a more interactive dinner for guests by serving dishes in phases. We first started with our passed hors d’oeuvres, including our twist on Blanketed Franks with a trio of sauces and Sweet Potato Dusted Crabcakes with chipotle aioli.

During the next phase of dining, we opened our stations which included a Taco Station (featuring a Ginger Glazed Duck Tacos, Truffled Wild Mushroom Tacos and Grapefruit Tequila Shrimp Tacos) as well as our Harvest Pear Station (with a Honey Lavender Pear Salad, Roasted Balsamic Pear Halves, and Gorgonzola Brulee with Pear Sage Biscotti). This phase also included more hearty passed hors d’oeuvres like our Noodles & Sushi, Turkey Sliders in mini to-go boxes, and a Savory Short Rib Sweet Potato Pie in a Jar. And we can’t forget our wildly popular Mojito & Limoncello Granita intermezzos!

No party is complete without dessert, so in keeping with the spirit of The Knot, we served “Wedding Cake” Ice Cream Sandwiches (in flavors like carrot cake and chocolate espresso) along with some seasonal treats like our Mini Chocolate-Dipped Apples and Apple Cobbler Bites.
