Featured Wedding: Liz & Cole

Liz & Cole
October 5, 2013, @ The Lighthouse

The Story

Cole took Liz to the park they had gone to through the years since high school. The two enjoyed a picnic close to the tree they had carved their name into several years back. After having lunch and hanging out, Cole got down on one knee with the most beautiful ring, and, of course, Liz said yes! When the time came to choose a venue, both food and location were a top priority for both Liz and Cole. Since they both share a love for water and had been to several Abigail Kirsch events, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers immediately was their first choice!

Wedding Style

“Our wedding theme was crystal and water,” says Liz. Crystals were used in the centerpieces and hung from the ceiling, along with a white billowing tent above the dance floor lit with warm amber lighting. “Water and crystals were also used in our escort card table which was placed in the front of the venue as the first thing guests saw upon entering,” says Liz.

Favorite Menu Item

Pie-In-A-Jar, Butternut Squash Risotto Fritters, Artisan Steakhouse Beef

Memorable Moments

“We were outside taking pictures before the ceremony, and a large sightseeing boat was pulling out of the marina,” says Liz. “When they saw us, the whole boat cheered and clapped for us.” Another unexpected moment was when Liz surprised Cole with the studio recording of her singing their first dance song.

What Guests are Saying

“Still at this moment, our guests are continuing to talk about how amazing our wedding was. We have received so many compliments on the uniqueness of our venue, the décor, the food, the band, and the feeling they had in the space,” says Liz.
