St. Francis Food Pantries Hosts “Doodle for Hunger” at Pier Sixty

St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters celebrated their 14th Annual Doodle for Hunger fundraiser earlier this month at Pier Sixty with nearly 450 supporters in attendance.

Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres (including our Butternut Squash Risotto Cakes, Smoky Cubanos and Shrimp Tacos) while mingling and enjoying the auction “doodles” from celebrities, athletes, and other well known faces. Some of this year’s doodles included everyone from the late James Gandolfini to Betty White to Jane Lynch.

After dining on an assortment of dishes from our Little Italy Station (complete with Meatball Sliders, Mozzarella en Carozza , and White Lasagna) Authentic Soft Taco Station and Americana Carving Station, the crowd was treated to an incredible performance by the legendary Gloria Gaynor and American Idol ‘s Constantine Maroulis.

The proceeds from the successful evening benefited the St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters which supports a network of charitable programs that provide a broad range of services for those in need, including the provision of food, clothing, shelter, and related social services for the poor.
