the story

While away on a skiing weekend trip, Brent told Elana that he had missed his train coming home. “I was out for the night watching the Oscars at my parent’s house, and when I came home that night, our two dogs, London & Toby, ran to the front door to greet me,” says Elana. “But they were wearing little shirts that said ‘Mommy, will you marry Daddy?’ Brent then appeared in our foyer and got down on one knee!”

When it came time to select a venue, the couple knew Tappan Hill Mansion was the perfect fit. “We knew if we chose an Abigail Kirsch venue, the food would be incredible, the service would be impeccable and our wedding would be flawless from start to finish,” says Elana. “Tappan Hill Mansion had exactly what we were looking for: breath-taking views, indoor/outdoor areas, an intimate setting and a historic significance. We love that Tappan Hill Mansion belonged to Mark Twain!”

wedding style

“Our style was very romantic. We had all-white flowers with hanging moss, with silver accents throughout the venue,” says Elana. “Our bridesmaids wore white and navy floral patterned dresses. Unique touches were very important to us. We had Brent’s 90-year-old grandmothers as our flower girls, our cake topper was a 3-D image of us and our two dogs, we gave out flip flops that said Just Married, and had a sparkler exit!”

memorable moment

“Our favorite moment from our wedding was our beautiful ceremony and seeing each other down the aisle,” says Elana. “Also, I surprised my husband with a music video I made for him with our wedding band. I put together footage of all of our family and friends and he was absolutely blown away!”

what guests are saying
