the story

Scott had a bit of a scavenger hunt in mind for his proposal to Amanda. “He gave me a card which enclosed a homemade crossword puzzle with clues easily filled by milestones in our relationship,” says Amanda. After frantically putting the puzzle together, it read “Come To The Park.” Immediately, she ran to Gramercy Park, but not before picking up a few “pennies from heaven” that Scott strategically laid out to remind Amanda of her Nana. After a bunch of words neither can remember, Amanda said yes (they think!). “We wanted a unique venue with amazing service and food,” she says of their venue search. “It was also important to us that all wedding activities were held in the same building without having to turn over the space! The Loading Dock checked all those boxes!”

the style

“Our wedding style was classic chic with a modern twist. Our event designer, Ruth Ridgeway, nailed it! Our all white ceremony was lit by candlelight and transitioned to a gorgeous pink and grey cocktail room — it was everything! We particularly loved the chandeliers above our aisle and later in the ballroom, as well,” says Amanda.

memorable moment

“The entire day was amazing, but seeing the final ballroom before any guests walked in was pretty spectacular,” remembers Amanda. “Also, we had arranged for Gigi, an electric violinist, to play at our wedding. Our guests had no clue she was coming and it was a hit!”

what guests are saying

“Our family and friends had such an amazing time at our wedding,” says Amanda. “In fact, we’ve been asked to renew our vows in five years just so we can throw down again!”
