Sweets on a Stick!

The cake-pop fad is making quite a splash in the realm of sweet indulgences, but don’t limit yourself to working solely with battered and baked sweets when it comes to making treats on a stick. Check out three of our favorite pops that are perfect for kids and adults alike!

Rice Krispie S’mores
Cut your Rice Krispie treats into rectangles (or fun shapes!) and skewer with a pop stick. Dip into melted semi-sweet chocolate and gently shake off excess. Place on wax paper and sprinkle with crushed graham crackers, mini marshmallows and a milk chocolate drizzle. If you really want to indulge, flip and repeat on other side.

Peppermint Marshmallows
Skewer 2-3 large marshmallows with a pop stick, dip into melted white chocolate and shake off excess. Lean the sticks on wax paper and sprinkle with crushed peppermint or candy canes around all sides then lay the sticks down and drizzle with chocolate.

Tropical Pineapple
Skewer 2-3 chunks of fresh pineapple with a pop stick, dip in melted milk chocolate and shake off excess. Lean the sticks on wax paper and sprinkle with sweetened coconut & chopped nuts (peanuts, macadamia & almonds are our favorite) around all sides. Other great fruit combinations are apples with praline or strawberries with mini chocolate chips.

The sky is the limit when it comes to toppings, so feel free to mix and match to your heart’s content. Try varying the types of chocolate for your dips and drizzles. Other great sprinklings include diced dried fruit, candy bits, cereal, pretzels, granola, butterscotch chips and caramel corn. Be creative with your sweet-sicles!
