Kevin and Maggie met in 2005 while working for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation on projects dedicated to rebuilding Lower Manhattan after September 11th. The two immediately bonded over their love of New York City and its contagious energy. On a brisk Friday evening in January, Maggie met Kevin at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where he dropped to one knee and proposed on the stunning front steps of the MET! “This quintessential New York City landscape served as the perfectly romantic backdrop for our engagement,” says Maggie. When it came time for venues, the couple knew they wanted to marry in Westchester because of Kevin’s strong connection to his church in Ossining. “We looked at eight wedding venues in Westchester in two days, and the second we stepped into Tappan Hill Mansion, we knew that it was the perfect location for our wedding. Its classic elegance, accommodating and professional staff, and unparalleled cuisine and reputation made it a dream venue for us,” says Maggie. “We were looking for a unique wedding venue with rich character and that’s exactly what we found at Tappan Hill Mansion!”
The couple wanted a classic and elegant wedding with a bit of a vintage feel, so they decided to keep the décor simple and romantic. Centerpieces and floral arrangements were comprised of blush pinks and creams, and the mansion was bathed in candlelight. “We wanted a non-structured wedding evening so that our guests felt as if they were at an elegant dinner and dance party. Our event manager, Gabe Vega, helped us orchestrate our entire event to achieve our dream vision,” says Maggie. “Honestly, the cocktail hour space needed little to no decorations as the food stations themselves were works of art! We wanted the focus to be on the spectacular food and drinks and the breathtaking location.”

“Our favorite moment was walking into the ballroom for our first dance and seeing all of our family and friends gathered in such a stunning setting. The ballroom was glowing with candlelight and gorgeously decorated. We also loved having peace of mind that our event would be absolutely seamless and that the Abigial Kirsch staff would deliver absolute perfection for us and our guests,” says Maggie.
“Our guests have not stopped raving about the level of service they received at our wedding, the beauty of the venue, and the absolutely incredible food. We had countless guests tell us that the food blew them away and it was better than any other wedding they’ve been to,” says Maggie. “The personal attention of stationing one waiter per table did not go unnoticed. Our guests said they’ve never been to an event with such high quality service and cuisine. The drinks were flowing, the food was sensational and there were so many unforgettable touches such as the Frozen Sangria Granitas and interactive stations during cocktail hour. My 90-year-old grandma also said that our wedding cake was the best cake she’s ever tasted in her life!”
